Eventually, The
dream comes true.
For many many
years I have lived this dream, and it gives me the pleasure
the whole pleasure to complete the design of this site that
concerns with Arab children literature. I have worked hard
to make the site looks as acceptable as possible to suit the
great nation as well as this important issue.
As far as the art of children literature is concerned, it is
considered one of the newly adopted arts in Arab literature.
Although rooted in folk heritage, children literature dates
back to the last thirty years in the nineteenth century as
well as to the beginnings of the twenteenth centurey. Ahmad
Shawqi was considered one of the pioneers of this
literature. He called for independent Arab children
literature far from adults’. Since the thirties of the last
century, the art of children literature has steped wide and
fixed steps where a new generation came to light to and
tried to include children literature within the art of
literature in general in terms of new literary and
educational theories. Among the pioneers of this literature
were Kamil Keilani, Mohamad Al-abrashi, Mohamad Brang and
Mohamad Saeed Al-aryan. On this basis, the writings of this
era characterized by the dependence and the whole dependence
on translation or on heritage. That is why children
literature has continued his constant search for origins
passing through experimenting and recreation stage. The war
in 1967 had its effects on the cultural atmosphere in Arab
world as well as the literary one, which had its effects on
the art of children literature. Since then, concerns about
this art have increased in Arab world. And since the
seventies of the last century, and in order to develop this
art, conferences have been held periodically. And in the
last decade in the last century, arab literature has
witnessed huge development in the field of publishing
children literature and it has been given great concern in
the finishings of these books. Because children literature
was not covered and discussed properly, I tried to design
this site to add something new to arab literature in general
and children literature in particular.
